The table below shows the worldwide market share of the notebook computer market for manufacturers in the years 2006 and 2007.
The table given reveals data about the global market share of a different brand of notebooks within two years, 2006 and 2007.
Overall, there are six notebook manufacturers which are HP, Dell, Acer, Toshiba, Lenovo, Fujitsu-Siemens (F-S) and the ones that are not referred in the chart classed as others. HP, has the greatest proportion of worldwide market share whilst F-S has the lowest for both years. Unlike Acer, Lenovo, F-S and the other brands, HP, Dell and Toshiba increased within the given period.
The manufacturers, those who increased their global market share from 2006-2007, are HP from well below a third (31.4%) to just over a third (34%), Dell from 16.6% to 20.2% and finally Toshiba a slight increase from 6.2% to 7.3%.
Now, turning to brands whose market share shrunk within the provided time period are Others from 22.8% to 19.3%, Acer and Lenovo experienced a slight drop from 11.6% to 10.7% and 6.6% to 6.2% respectively and finally, F-S lost more than half of its market share from 4.8% to 2.3%.
