Apparently, there has been a historical debate about the dinosaurs who had been lived in the north slope one hundred years ago, if these dinosaurs migrate during the winter or not?. A group of scientists believes that those dinosaurs have to migrate to a warmer region which represented by the reading passage, while another group refutes this idea as the professor does in the lecture, he tries to convince his students with the opposite side of view.
First of all, the professor contends that the sun during the summer in the north slope had been shine for about twenty hours a day, that led to developing a tremendous amount of vegetation in that season, so, the dinosaurs could feeding on this vegetation even if these vegetations had died at winter. So the dinosaurs did not have to migrate to another area, as the author in the reading passage claimed, in addition, there was no need to search for food as it was available, even if no sun was around.
Second, the professor maintains an opposites side of view regarding the meaning of living of these dinosaurs in herds, he adds, living in herds not mean that those dinosaurs had to migrate, that may mention to their way in protecting themselves from predators, then he gives an example of elks, these elks don't migrate to any place but at the same time, they live in herds. By this point, the lecture knocks down the author evidence about the meaning of living in herds.
Finally, the author assumes that all the dinosaurs were capable of moving all that way to another area, the professor claims, that is true for the grown up dinosaurs, then, he asks a question, what about the young dinosaurs?, did they left them behind?, that do not make sense as the professor assume. So, the third suggestion of the reading passage is practically unbelievable.
