The charts compare the number of online sales for four different sectors in Canada in 2005 and 2010.
Overall, it is evident that there were changes in all categories. While the online shopping sales for food and beverage and video games increased, these figures for home funishing and electronics and appliances declined.
In 2005, food and beverage accounted for 22% of total online sales. This figure rose up to 32% in 2010 and became the sectors which had the highest figure of sales. Having similar trend, the percentage of video games solds in 2005 was 18% and then this increased by 5%, to 23% in 2010.
In contrast, the online sales for electronics and appliances and home funishing decreased in the observed years. Electronics and appliances was the sector having the highest figure for sales in 2005, at 35%. This figure fell to only 30% in 2010, enjoying the second place. Home funishing accounted for 25% of total online shoppling sales in 2005 and then declined to only 15% in 2010, became the lowest figure for sales.
