Overall, It is clear from the line graph that all the amount of money spent on books of Germany, France, Italy and Austria increased during the research period. Additionally, the figure of Germany was by far highest between 1995 to 2005.
In 1995, 80 million US dollars was spent on books in Germany, while these figures was the same in France and Italy at just over 50 million US dollars. The amount of money spent on books in Austria was lowest at roughly 30 million US dollars.
Germany experienced a dramatic increase in the expenditure on books to approximate 95 million US dollars in 2005, although there was a fluctuation. There is a slight rise in the expenditure on books in France and Italy to 65 million US dollars and 60 million US dollars repectively. This figure of Austria increased slightly, followed by a sharp rise to 70 million US dollars in 2005.
