The table compares the percentage of expenditure which were spent by residents on three sections in five distinct nations Ireland, Italy, Spanish, Sweden and Turkey in the year 2002.
Overall, foods, drinks and Tobacco were items which were used the most popular in five countries while the proportion of leisure and education were the smallest.
It is clearly seen that foods, drinks and tobacco were the most important position on consumer spending in all of five countries. The highest proportion of these items was Turkey with 32,14% while Ireland was the second rank with 28,91%. The percentage of this category in the other countries made up 16,36%; 18,80% and 15,77% in Italy, Spain and Sweden respectively.
Regarding of clothing and footwear, country - dwellers spent under 10%. In Italy, this figure was 9% and in Sweden, it was 5,40%. The rate of national consumer expenditure by this kind of commodity in other three countries fluctuated around 6,5%. in terms of leisure and education, all five nations have small percentage. In detailed, the proportion in Turkey was 4,35% whilst in other four countries were under 4%.
