Both the reading and the lecture discuss the authenticity whether the Dinasours are endotherms or not. The reading stated that the diansours are endotherms and it provides three points of support. However, the lecture casts doubts on all these claims and it opposes all the author's points.
First of all, the reading claims that diansors are endotherms because they used to live in polar region which is so cold to live there. Only animals who could maintain their body temperature constant ,they could survive in such weather. On the other hand, the lecture opposes this point by explaining that the polar area once was not that much cold, it was warmer. And if it was cold, the dinasors migrated or hibernated.
Second the author avers that there is a connection between the endotherms and the position of the legs. The endotherms have their legs underneath their body including the dinasor. However, the lecture contrasts this idea by saying that it is true the dinasor's legs underneath their body to support the body weight, rather than doing physical activities like other endotherms do.
Finally, the reading states that there is a connection between the endotherms and bone structure since the endotherms bone structure have Haversian canal. The fossils include the Haversian canal which prove that the diansors are endotherm. In contrast, the lecture refutes this idea by saying that it is true that the diansor has haversian canal, but also it has growth rings which means that the growth of the diansor is not constant in cold region. However, the endotherms grow rapidly in the cold environment.
