Task 1: The tasks below show the top 10 countries in terms of tourist destination, revenue and spending. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below
The three charts provided show the reports on the top 10 countries in terms of tourist destinations, revenue and spending and it is interesting to note that there are correlations among them.
Overall, the top countries with the highest spending on tourism had earned the greatest revenue and the largest number of tourists, except for Japan and Netherland.
Looking closely at the provided data, the correlation between top destinations and top earners is not so correct. While the United States had 47.1 millions of visitors, stood at the fourth place, the revenue was the highest, namely 74.2 billion, as three times larger than France which had the largest number of tourists (70 millions). The relation between Spain and Italy is similar to the case between USA and France.
It is obviously that the higher money spent on tourism, the greater the revenue gained. This trend is correct for most of the top countries except for Japan and Netherland, which spending among the top 10 regions, however did not appear on the top destinations as well as top earners. While Poland and Mexico got 18.8 and 19.3 millions of tourists, they did not appear among the top earners, and though earning 8.6 billion of dollars, Australia was not recorded as the top popular destinations for tourists.
