Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Children should begin learning a foreign language as soon as they start school. Use specific reasons and examples to support your position

In this century, regarding to learning a foreign language, if anyone has multi-languages, it will be a greatly beneficial skill. Therefore, it comes to the question, “ when should we learn a foreign language?” Although, the answer of many people is “ as soon as the children start school,” my answer contrasts with it but believe that they should learn after they are born because time of learning is limited and they have a brain set for learning after they are born.

First, human has a limited time of learning. The babies start to memorize and learn after they are born, they will learn everything surround them easily and automatically. For the sake of clarity, scientific publications have shown that time of automatic learning will be closed when the kids are older then four years old. For instance, my friend’s son, Elijah, is able to speak both Mandarin and English, even before he started the school, because his father and his mother taught him to speak both languages since he was born. In the meantime, my another friend’s son, Tim, who has the same age as Elijah did not have a chance to learn an additional language, so he could speak just English. Then, he learned Mandarin when he started school but his Mandarin is not as good as Elijah. Therefore, beginning to learn a foreign language as soon as they start school might be too late to have the most benefit of learning for the children.

Second, the children are willing to learn everything around them before they start school. In addition, teaching will provide the most benefit for learners when they are willing to learn, like saying “an empty glass will have a capacity to receive water than a glass with full of water has.” For instance, when I was young, before started school, I was alacrity to learn a new thing such as English because my father started to speak with me in English. I had some conversation with my father endless because I felt so excited and I wanted to learn the new language. Clearly, we should consider teaching an additional language to kids when they are willing to learn, not only they start the school regard to the epic efficiency of learning.

In conclusion, language is really important for communication in the period of the world with no barrier. In consequent, we should encourage the children to learn as soon as possible or after they are born due to the fact that time of learning is limited and the children are willing to learn. Truth to be told, there is no time set for learning neither beginning nor ending.
