Educational institutions should actively encourage their students to choose fields of study that will prepare them for lucrative careers
I contradict with the above given statement that it is the duty of educational institutions to suggest the students in selecting their fields of study for lucrative careers. Everyone has his own interests and disinterests and he should select his fields of interest based on his interests and not simply following the advice of professors, elders and friends.
The only one who knows better about him in this world is himself. So it is one's duty to select his fields of interest. Everyone in the world should inculcate individuality in doing their things independently. Every field has its merits and demerits. So, choosing a field certainly is as important as anything and it brings a vast change in your life. Nowadays, arts are seen inferior to sciences but art students achieved a lot of fame and prosperity in the society. For example, Amartya sen, a famous economist was known across the world and he also got Noble prize in that.
Everyone should make a wise decision in selecting the field of their interest. They should pick a field and should work tenaciously to achieve zenith position in their field. For example, if Steve Jobs was forced to join in a sports academy or an acting school, we would take a long time to be aware of I phones and I pads and perhaps he will not become as famous as he was now. Another example, if Usen Bolt was forced to join a engineering program or anything else other than sports, then it is not possible for us to see this fastest sprint runner.
Lastly, I conclude that it is not the duty of the educational institutions to suggest the students in selecting their fields of interest. And it is the perquisite of an individual to select their fields of interest.
