The diagram depicts proportion of water used in different parts of the world, which is North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia and Both East Asia. The mentioned parameters are Industrial use, agricultural use and domestic use.
It is clear form the chart that most of the parts, water is used for agricultural purpose. Especially in areas like South America, Africa and Asian regions. Detailed view of the Asian regions reveals that, Central Asia and South East Asia uses more than two third of the water for farming purpose 81% and 88% respectively. African region also fooling the same trend with 84% agricultural water consumption.
North America and Europe showed a completely different consumption pattern. They used almost half of the water for industrial use 48% and 53% respectively. Domestic consumption is accounted for least proportion in these regions 13% in North America and 15% in Europe. where as in Africa and Asian regions less than 10% of water was consumed for domestic purpose followed by indusrial use. A noted feature is that the South America's consumption pattern, they used 71% of their water for farming purpose, 19% for domestic use and 10% industrial use.
In conclusion the regions like South America, Africa and asian regions gave much importance to agricultural sector. while, areas like North America and Europe focused on Industrial development.
