Motivation Letter
During my undergraduate studies, I found great pleasure in some courses such as Computer Programming, Process control. In all of these courses, I was among the top students in the class. My talent in these courses not only did help me to distinguish myself from others in the class but also served me to assist other students. These facts provided me with a chance to become a teaching assistant for the mentioned courses, which was a precious experience. One of my most gratifying experiences during undergraduate studies was my role as a member of … Association of our Department. I enthusiastically cooperate with Scientific Journal of the association and execute some simulation projects in the association.
Through my undergraduate program, I had to work in a company as an intern. My university professor assigns me to work in …. The company was going to construct a condensing boiler plant. In the unit I worked in I have the chance to be in touch with the research on condensing boiler and computer simulation techniques performed to enhance heat transfer on the flue gas side due to water vapor condensing on the boiler’s heat exchanger surface. Besides that, I have to get details about the construction of a laboratory for standardizing gas appliances. The internship helped me understand what I learned in the classroom, and gave me much more real world hands-on experience.
With my prior interest and the strong commitment to research, I am confident that I have prepared myself well for my upcoming master study in …. I am very much attracted to your graduate program because:
1) Computer-aided modeling and simulation are highlighted in the main research subjects of the Faculty of XYZ, which is very compatible with my background and research interest.
2) Pursuing the master in such an international, dynamic and future-oriented institution as … would offer me valuable opportunities to do collaboration work and improve my communication skills, which suits my multidisciplinary and diverse orientation well.
3) The concentration of industries and research institute in the … area could provide me opportunities for summer internship, co-op position or collaboration project and therefore, put what I learn in the classroom to practical use in the workplace immediately.
Combining my talent with hard work, I am passionate to discover beyond the corners of my major, where there are always new undiscovered directions lying in wait, and I believe my strong background proves that I am qualified enough to do so. Besides, to be more realistic, I see myself to work as an academic researcher or an engineer of a large company. These have been my objectives and I have actively worked for them.
