The line graph compares the proportion of women members of parliament in European nations between 2000 and 2012.
Overall, It is clear from the line graph that the number of female members of parliament of UK was by far lowest during the research period. At the same time, While the number of female in Belgium decreased, there was a sharp increase in the figure for France, UK, Italy, Germany.
In 2000, the number of female members of Germany began at about 33% and then increased gradually to 35% in 2008. The Figure for Italy, France and Belgium were lower at 27%, exactly 25%, about 17%, respectively, Whereas, the UK accounted for the lowest number with only under 5% at the same time in 2000. Despite some fluctuations, the number for Germany rose considerably throughout the period, ending at under 25% in 2012.
There was a sharp rise in the figure of Italy under 40% compared with only over 30% of France and nearly 25% of Belgium in 2012. Meanwhile, UK saw a sharp rise in the parliament, reaching a final figure of almost 23% in 2012.
