Essay topics:

Government officials should rely on their own judgment rather than unquestioningly carry out the will of the people whom they serve.

In a democratic country, government policies and decisions plays an important role for the overall growth and development. In a democratic country each citizen has right to express his views and ideas. So it is responsibility of government official that instead on relying on their own judgment, they should carefully listen the public ideas and tactfully implemented the appropriate ones.

Here argument stated is that government officials should rely on their own judgment. To rely on their own judgement, they should have enough capability to judge the situations and accordingly make the decisions and policies. The main objective of their judgement should be welfare of the whole society so their judgement should be fair and mature enough to serve the whole country.

Sometimes leaders make the decisions due to their own selfishness and these type of judgements are outcome of autocracy. In history, Hitler made his own judgements and that was become the major cause of destruction of not only himself but of the whole country. So there should be proper balance between the public opinion and leaders own judgement. However, it is neither a good idea to unquestioningly carry out the will of the people. Sometimes people also suggest the ideas according to their own interest and selfishness which will not have global impact.

Government officials should provide the public an appropriate platform where they can articulate their ideas. If officials will discuss about all if and pros of an issue to the public, consider their views and involve their ideas while taking the decision, then only a prudent judgement would have been possible.

So instead of relying on their own judgment or on unquestioningly carry out the will of the people, government officials should choose a balance approach of judgement which will be effective and useful for one and all in the country.
