“Tough time makes stronger people”, people who have seen the worst tend to value the best. The prompt claims that, the luxuries and the conveniences of contemporary life prevent people from developing into truly strong and independent individuals. In my opinion, I strongly agree with this statement for the following three reasons.
To begin with, generally people who do not live a luxurious live are more likely to value the hardships of other people and have much more life experience than those who have luxurious life. For example, In 2010 a research was done for comparing the multitasking and the stress handeling capabilities of people, in the aftermath of the results the researchers were convoluted initially that few people scored very less in stress management and multitasking capabilities and after thorough analysis they found out that people having a lower and middle class background had a distinguishable difference in the scores than the people who had a luxurious upbringing. Thus in my opinion, parents shouldn’t spend and spoil their kids with the wealth they own, rather live them on their own so they learn things in a heuristic way.
People who have access to luxury and conveniences they are dogmatic and feel self-righteous of everything they do or posses. Another example, In an interview Shaq O’ Neil a famous former basketball player stated that, “ I have said my kids, first hand me those 2 academic degrees and then only you’ll get access to my bank account”. Moreover, people like Shaq had a very impecunious background, and when people do not have access to luxury they generally tend to work hard to get that.
In conclusion, I agree with the statement that the luxuries and the conveniences of contemporary life prevent people from developing into truly strong and independent individuals, and people should live their life ground-up even though they have access to luxuries.
