All too often, companies hire outside consultants to suggest ways for the company to operate more efficiently. If companies were to spend more time listening to their own employees, such consultants wo Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with these statements and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statements might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.uld be unnecessary.
"The grass is always greener on the other side"-joseph murphy. The prompt suggests that companies should look inside rather than outside for solutions to problems and for operating more efficiently. The author's claim might be valid since the employees of the company may understand the working and structure of the company better than the consultants, and maybe able to curate a optimal solution. Nevertheless, I mostly disagree with this prompt and suggest the company should not turn away from the option of consulting as they might provide a fresh influx of ideas as well as neccessary expertise to expedite the processes in the company.
In some cases it might be the case that certain acceptable solutions might be generated by the companies employees only and outside consultants may not be absolutely neccessary. For instance, say in a startup or a young company it would be wise to invest resources on other fronts and have the employees come up with the ways of optimizing the companies operations. Since a startup would in most cases be running from seed money of stakeholders, it is essential for them to cut down on costs as much as possible to look like a profitable investment for there stakeholders. Moreover, in small scale operations like a startup it would be possible for the employees to optimize the operations of the firm owing to the small size of the firm. So, owing to the above example it might be a better choice for the company to look inside rather than outside to solve it's quanderies.
But In most well established companies it would be a better choice for the company to hire consultants as they may revitalize the company with a fresh influx of ideas and specialized expertize and also considering the fact that time is money in the corporate world. For instance, a Electric mobility consultant hired by a company would likely be wary of market trends and technologies since he is specialized in that particular field. In most companies the employees have to play multiple roles, which range from mangerial to technical. This leaves them with little time for personal development let alone putting focused efforts for solving only one problem. But that might not be the case for a consultant, Who is wary with worldwide projects and know-how of his consulting field. Since his work is focused only on providing either a technical or managerial solution he would be able to dedicate the time and efforts to optimize the solution provided by him. This expertize might go a long way to make the company stand out from competition or even keep up with them.
In conclusion, In some small scale operations it maybe wise for an company to look inside for solutions. However, in most cases hiring a consultant might lead to a refined product which is upto market standard. Consequently, This may lead to Higher market share and profits
