Nowadays, with an increasing number of online games and applications, today's children are spending more time on electronic devices and lesser with traditional games. With the ease of technology available on their mobile phones or laptops, children spend most of their time confined in those walls of their home. We need to encourage them to develop an interest in some outdoor sport or hobby which will help them improve physical and mental development.
Yes, in today's fast-moving world they need to walk hand in hand with the latest technology available, but they should also actively participate in outdoor recreations. The better way to motivate children for outdoor hobbies is to gift them with a soccer ball or a camera or an animal.
I would like to personally gift a child with a camera, as I believe it will inspire them to spend more time outdoors. It would encourage them to see things from a different perspective and instill in them a practice to travel to different places to capture beautiful views. It would inculcate them to think of various locations to click desirable pictures of their choice. This practice of a suitable gift really helps. My niece Aisha, was an introvert child with fewer outdoor activities. After I had gifted her with a camera, she would visit parks, beaches, lakeside often during sunrise and sunset, to click pictures. When she uploaded those pictures online and received wonderful comments from friends and families, she started to open up more by each passing day. Now she loves to explore new places and interact with others more often.
As we know, when we are passionate about a hobby, we are infused with self-discipline, good thought process, and dedication to achieve desired results; all these lead to our development. In general, it would always be a good practice to encourage children to strike a balance between indoor and outdoor activities for their overall development.
