The graph below illustrates European trend in consuming fish, chicken, beef, and lamb from 1979 to 2004. It can be obviously seen the different trend among them and which meat is the most popular in European country in the end of 2004.
After 1979, fish consumption fluctuated until 2004. Lamb consumption declined sharply from 1979 until around 1981. From then onwards, it fluctuated until 2004, but the general trend was downwards. On the contrary, even though chicken consumption fluctuated, its trend was generally upwards till 2004. Beef consumption fell dramatically around period 1979 and 1981. Then, it recovered in 1983. Then, towards 2004, the beef consumption fluctuated, yet the general trend was sharply downwards.
From above, it can be clearly seen that fish consumption was stable to become the most avoided in Europe even until 2004. In contrast, chicken was the most favorite in Europe in the end of period.
In conclusion, the figure below shows the different trend between fish and other meat from 1979 to 2004 among European. Besides, chicken is the most favorite in the end of 2004.
