To begin, in 1940, the proportion of people aged 65 and over stood at around 10% and 7% in USA and Sweden. The figures for these countries rose during the period and in 2000 the values stood was around 15%(USA) and 12%(Sweden). After this point, the figures of USA will remain stable until 2020,before reaching a peak of about 23% in 2040. Whereas, for the sweden thr percentage will decline to around 18% in 2025, before rocketing to 25% in 2040.
In the case of Japan, only 5% of people were aged 65 and over in 1940. This figure declined gradually and reached around 5% again in 2000.
