Technology evolution and society trends dealing with cuisine have recently increate for many people the possibility to cook their own meals in a very short time. In my opinion, this cultural shift is bringing positive consequences in the way people approach to food and alimentation.

First of all, many people have the possibility to cook by themselves, avoiding eating junk food every day. One of the main causes that led to the diffusion of burgers, fries, pizzas was in fact the difficulty for many people to find time to prepare at home their own meal. Nowadays, people are instead learning that cooking is a very important part of our everyday lives, as what we eat contributes to our own health. For instance, if an employee in the 80’s was used to eat pizza and fries everyday, perhaps today he has the chance to prepare something at home and bringing it to his job place, to have a healthy meal.

Secondly, the chance to cook in a shorter time has positive effects on family lunches, as the parents are no more required hours to prepare healthy foods like vegetable soups. This also allows to families the possibility to enlarge the usual variety of foods they are used to eat, experimenting new and preferably healthy dishes. For instance, instead of eating pasta or steaks almost every day, children can have their fair amount of vegetables, proteins and other useful foods that are required to stay healthy despite nowadays general lifestyle.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that the evolution of cuisine, and the related way to cook, is having a positive effect on people health, allowing a wider consume of healthy foods. I am sure that, as cooking changed in the last century, it will keep evolving in the next decades, towards a more healthy relationship between men and foods.
