Gender of students has been attached great importance to and even triggers a debate over individuals’ benefit. In some people’s perspective, males and females should be separately educated. Contrary to these people’s view is my opinion that students, no matter which gender, should be grouped and taught together, due to its contributions to individuals’ personality and schools.
What should be prioritised is that schools with mixed genders, rather than single one, are conductive to students’ personality, including interpersonal skills. To begin with, having classmates with different gender could sharpen one’s communication ability. In detail, during lectures, having group discussions with opposing sex could boost their confidence when talking to others, regardless of their genders; on the contrary, it is common for students studying in single-gender schools are not confident enough to interact with different gender.
Another worth discussing advantage is that an organisation with both males and females, instead of allowing just one, will benefit itself, by giving a positive impression and gaining reputation. Specifically speaking, an institute filled with boys and girls illustrates a more harmonised and energetic learning environment, which could attract more students to enroll, as well as further funding; however, a rather unbalanced and tedious one might feel if it is a boys- or girls- only school.
Comprehensive personality, foundation of one’s success, will be fully developed in schools with mixed genders. Educational institutes, valuable place for learning, receiving either males or females will be much appreciated by the society. To conclude, only by accepting both genders studying together can reap maximum benefits.
