The table shows the underground railway systems in six cities. The six cities are London, Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC, Kyoto and Los Angeles.
London is the oldest city which opened the underground railway systems in 1863. The second oldest city is Paris (1900), followed by Tokyo (1927), Washington DC (1976), Kyoto (1981) and the last city opening is Los Angeles (2001).
London has the longest kilometres of routes of all the cities, at 394. The second longest is Paris, at 199. Then Tokyo has 29 higher than Washington DC, at 155. Moreover Kyoto has the shortest kilometres of route of all cities, that has 17 lower than Los Angeles which has 28 km/routes.
On the other hand, the highest passenger per year is Tokyo at 1927 millions. The second highest is Paris with total commuter per year at 1191 millions. Traveller per year in London are lower than those in Paris, at 775 millions and Washington DC has 144 millions traveller per year. Next, Los Angeles are higher 5 millions than those in Kyoto which has 50 millions. Thus, Kyoto has the least commuter per year.
In a nutshell, London has the oldest underground railway system and the longest kilometres of route but not many people using it. Tokyo has the third longest kilometres of route and many people in Tokyo interested in using underground railways. As a result it makes Tokyo the highest passengers per year.
