The table below compares five different countries in terms of amount of spent money on some items in 2002.Generally, it is clear that Turkey had by far the highest percentage in consuming food, drinks and tobacco.
Comparing Ireland and Turkey, the greatest rate of consuming in all three types of goods is dedicated to Turkey. With nearly 3% decrease, Ireland is remained second consumer of the first good category at 28.91% while this scale is about similar in consuming clothes and footwear with 6.43% in Ireland and 6.63% in Turkey where leisure and education are doubled.
In the second comparison, Spain had had the top rate in food, drinks and tobacco consumption with 18.8% compared with 16.36% and 15.77% in Italy and Sweden respectively. Although in clothing and footwear group, the highest percentage was donated to Italy, Sweden had majority of leisure and education consumers with a slight difference with Italy.
To recap, Turkey was the biggest supplier in food, drink and tobacco and even in leisure and education though the number of consumers of clothing and footwear in Italy hit the peak.
