The three pie charts display information about how much money was spent in a UK school during three years: 1981, 1991 and 2001.
The begin with, during the three years most of the money was spent in teacher’s salaries, corresponding to a 40% of total spending in 1981, followed by a 50% in 1991. However, we can see that there was a slight decrease in the amount of money spent in 2001, with a 45% percentage of total school expenditure.
Turning to the money used to pay other worker’s salary, we can see that over the years there has been a remarkable decline on the percentage of money designated to pay these employees, which fell from 28% in 1981 to 15% in 2001. By contrast, expenditure in insurance has gradually grown up through the years, reaching the highest percentage in 2001, represented by 8% of total school spending. When it comes to resources, furniture and equipment, both together represented more than a quarter of total money expenditure.
Overall, the main trait that can be observed in this data is that throughout the three years studied, most of the money was allocated to pay teacher’s salaries.
