Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant
The first flow diagram demonstrates three different places salmon fish would live and the life cycle they would go through, and the second diagram gives information about the three stages in their life.
It is obviously that salmon fish would live in the upper river, the lower river, the open sea and then go back to the upper river in their whole life. There are three different stages as they are growing up, called fry, smolt and adult salmon.
In the first diagram, salmon eggs would be laid under small stones and reeds in the upper rover where the slow is very slow. After about five to six months, eggs would hatch to fries and they would move to the lower river, in which the flow is faster. The fries would become smolts and swim to the open sea after living for around four years in the lower river. Approximal five years later, smolts turn to adult salmons who are ready to move back to the upper river and lay eggs.
Looking at the second diagram, we can see different sizes of the three stages in salmon fish’s lives. Fries, with a size of 3-8 cm, would grow three or four times big to smolts. After about ten years’ growth, adult salmon can become very enormous comparing to its beginning length, as long as 70-76 cm.
