The given chart illustrates the average temperatures and precipitation per month in Kolkata.
It can be seen that the figures for rainfall fluctuated considerably. The amount of average rainfall was the most in July and August while the highest temperatures was from April to June.
Between January and May, the average precipitation rises gradually before reaching at 100mm in May. At that time, the average temperatures also increase from the lowest point of around 20*C to peak at about 30*C. Over the next three months, there are a dramatic growth in the average rainfall with the reaching a peak of over 330mm in July. By contrast, the average temperatures remain stable over the same period.
In the final four months, both average temperatures and average precipitation see the same downward tend. the average precipitation decreases significantly and finishes at the lowest point of approximately 10mm in December, whereas the average temperatures decline slightly and return to the beginning point.
