The diagram illustrates alterations in the proportion of people living in cities, towns and rural areas in terms of those born in Australia and outside from 1995 to 2010.
As can be seen clearly from the graph, the rates of people who tend to dwell in urban areas, increased. Additionally, the percentage of townies and villagers who had lived in towns, countryside respectively, declined.
In 1995, half of Australia’s population lived in urban areas. During the interval, 20% of people lived in the towns, compared with 30% dwelling in rural areas. By 2010, the proportion of residents who dwelled in cities rose by about 15% moderately. In contrast, the ratios of those living in towns and rural areas slightly fall at the same proportion, are 15%.
On the other hand, the percentage of citizens who were not born in Australia was 60% in 1995, and 80% in 2010. The rate of inhabitants who born outside Australia that lived in rural areas was 40% in 1995. The figure for people lived outside Australia dropped dramatically by around 5% in 2010.
