The bar chart below shows the number of students who chose certain university subjects in 2005. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

This bar chart illustrates the numbers (in thousands) of students who chose a certain university with eight subjects (Sciences, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Languages, Humanities, The Arts, Literature, Law) in 2005.
Overall, the chart groups students according to subjects and divides these subjects groups into male and female categories. There here are some foolproof differences on subjects chosen between the two genders.
Around twenty-four thousand females chose social sciences higher than the males at about fourteen thousand. Moreover, social science is also the subject with the highest total number of choices compared to other subjects. There were approximately eighteen thousand girls and two thousand boys in Languages, making it the least popular subject overall (two thousand). The number of boys enrolled in sciences was over twenty thousand, which was roughly twice as many as the number of females at around ten thousand. As for Mathematics, females stood at four thousand, which was nowhere near as close as males with eighteen thousand.
On the other hand, the remaining subjects for both genders were not as popular, Humanities, The Arts, Literature, Law. Fifteen thousand males chose literature, compared to twelve thousand females. In Humanities, the net figure was the same for both sexes at twelve thousand each. Arts were mostly dominated by females with nine thousand vs three thousand (males), whereas the law was dominated by males with ten thousand vs six thousand (females).
