the bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010
The bar chart compares the proportion of Australian males and females in six distinct age groups involving in exercising in the year 2010.
It is clear that the percentage of women who were interested in doing physical activities was higher than men in various age groups except adolescences who were mainly male. We can also see that more than half of the elderly women did this type of activity in 2010.
The percentage of male teenagers (aging from 15 to 24) who did regular physical exercise was approximately 53%, which was higher than their female counterparts, at 47.7%. However, the tendency to do exercise in young women and elderly women, who were aged under 65, was more than men in the same age groups. This difference was near 13 per cent in young adults aging from 35 to 44, with 52.5 % and just under 40% among females and males respectively, who were involved in doing regular physical activities.
The proportion of old adults who were interested in exercise was almost similar in both gender, at near 47%. This figure compared to the equivalent data for the younger people in each gender was lower among women and higher among men.
