Regular physical activities are very crucial for maintaining a healthy life. The graph here shows the percentage of Australian men and women who were involved in physical activities on a regular basis for the year 2010.
In the graph, the ages of men and women were categorized into six groups. Age 15 to 24 are in one group followed by age 25 to 35, then 35 to 44, 45 to 54, 55 to 64, and 65 and over. It is observed that the percentage of men exercising decreased with increasing their age. The age group from 15 to 24 has the highest number of individuals with 52.8% of people exercising and between the age group 35 to 44 only 39.5% are involved in physical activities, which is the lowest among all age groups.
For females, a contrast is seen as with increasing age the percentage of females exercising tends to increase as well. The exception here is the age group of 65 and older as they follow a down trend in the percentage to 46.7% from its previous age group of 55 to 64 years with a percentage of 53%.
The highest contrast is seen for the age group of 35 to 44 years where the difference in percentage for female and male is the maximum. However, it is established that the middle aged female are more health conscious where is for male they start with a robust physical activity schedule but then tends not to follow through.
