The bar chart shows the percentage of small , medium, large companies which used social media for business purposes between 2012 to 2016
The bar chart reveals information on the proportion of corporations, namely small, medium and large, utilizing social networks for commercial purposes in the period of four years beginning in 2012.
From a prospective view, big businesses accounted for the highest percent of social media practices. In addition, both small and medium companies witnessed an upward trend while that of large corporation fluctuated wildly over the given period.
From a quick glance at the chart, in terms of the first three years of the depicted period, the percentage figure for small businesses climbed minimally to 30% in 2013, which was followed by a more significant growth in 2014. Medium companies followed the same pattern in use of social media but more aggressively from over 30% to slightly under 50%. The statistics of large businesses in 2013 were respectively a half and a third more than that of the small and medium ones; however, decreased slightly under 80%.
Moving on to analyse the remaining part of the chart, it is noteworthy that from 2014 to 2015, a sharp fall was recorded in social media presence of all categories. In contrast, there was a dramatic recovery encountered leading to the rocketing to around 50% in terms of small and medium businesses while that of huge companies returned to its original data in 2012.
