The bar graph depicts the extent of participation in education and science from people of developing and industrialized countries in the years 1980 and 1990. It compares different aspects like the number of years spent on schooling, scientists and technicians in every thousand persons, and expenditure on research and development during these years.
Overall, industrialized nations lead by large margins in all aspects during this period. There was an increase in numbers between these years in the case of countries that are industrialized. On the other hand, developing countries showed a rise in these cases except for expenditure on research and development where it fell.
Between 1980 and 1990, there was no significant increase in average schooling years when developing countries are considered. The other rose from 8 to 10 approximately. In the same duration, a drastic surge in the number of scientists and technicians per 1000 people can be seen in industrialized nations from 40 to almost 70. Nonetheless, the latter was below 20 all along.
In the case of spending on research and development, industrialized countries skyrocketed from 150 to 350 between these years. On contrary, developing nations declined from 50 to roughly 20 from 1980 to 1990.
