the bar graph shows the global sales (in billions of dollars) of different types of digital games between 2000 and 2006.
The bar chart compares four different platforms. namely mobile phones, online, consoles and handheld devices in terms of the number of the turn over in dollars from sales from 2000 to 2006.
Overall, It is clear that the number of three types of digital games increased steadily through every year, while the number of handheld games was at the least twice as high as those for other platforms.
In 2000, the proportion of handheld games accounted for $11 billion, whereas that of console games constituted under $ 6 billion. Moreover, the figures for mobile or inline games were not presented in 2000. For the next three years, there was a sharp increase of $4 billion in the number of handheld video games. On the other hand, the sales of consoles games decreased significantly by two billion. Besides that the proportion of mobile phone and online games started to be popular and a gradually increase of three billion was seen in the sales in 2003.
In 2006, the number of handheld, online and mobile games reached peaks at nine billion dollars. In contrast, turn over from console games dropped dramatically to the lowest point at 5 billion.
