Overall, Australia in 2000 was accounted for the highest of total electricity production in comparison with the others. Besides, there was vast change in the units of electricity by fuel source over the given period.
In Australia, not only did the total production in 2000 constitute 170 units of electricity, but it also was higher than that of 1980, which stood at 100 units. Moreover, regarding the year 1980, 50% of fuel source was allocated for coal, which was the highest comparing to the others, then dramatically boosted to 130% in 2000. In addition, the gradual rise of 5% was witnessed in the proportion of hydro power in 2000, except natural gas and oil which followed an opposite trend.
In France, there was a fluctuation of 25% in the figure of coal over the 20-year period, regardless of the percentage of nuclear power which was seen in the significant growth of 111%. Additionally, the year 2000 experienced a marginal development of 5% in the percentage of oil. By contrast, that of hydro power and natural gas was vanished in 2000.
