Essay topics:

The changing trends of the amount of three kinds of fast food consumed by Australian teenagers from 1975 to 2000.

Given is a line graph which illustrates the changing trends of the frequencies that Australian teenagers consumed three kinds of popular fast foods during the period from 1975 to 2000.

It’s clearly that, in 1975, the Fish and Chips was consumed about 100 times by Australian teenagers per year, enjoying a predominant position compared to Pizza and Hamburgers which only were chosen no more than 20 times.

While in the next two decades, it’s apparently that both Pizza and Hamburgers experienced sharp increase. Gradually, Hamburgers’ increase speed turned slow and leveled off 100 times in 1995. Compared with Hamburgers, Pizza enjoyed a lower frequency and kept a moderate increase throughout the whole process and finally leveled out 85 times approximately at the same year.

Inversely, it can be found that the consumption times of the Fish and Chips appeared a dramatic drop of 60 times approximately. And finally there were only about 40 times in 2000. Though there were fluctuations during this process, it didn’t change the general decrease trend during the period from 1975 to 2000. The Fish and Chips was replaced by Hamburgers and Pizza to occupy the dominant status.

All in all, both of Pizza and Hamburgers’ consume frequencies had obvious increases from 1975 to 2000. While it’s also apparently that the Fish and Chips suffered a sales decline at the same time.
