The line graph below shows changes in the amount and type of fast food consumed by Australian teenagers from 1975 to 2000.
The line graph compares the consumption of three different food product groups of young people in Australia between 1975 and 2000.
Overall, it is clear that both three food product groups saw a considerable fluctuation during the period shown. There was a decline on consumption of fish and chips while other food groups were consumed higher by the teenagers in Australia.
It can be seen from the graph that in 1975, the most popular food product group was fish and chips. At about 100 times eaten per year in 1975, it fell sharply to less than 40 times in 2000 although its fluctuation between 1975 and 1985.
Over the same period, the expenditure on both pizza and hamburgers increased. From 5 times eaten pizza in 1975, it rose rapidly to more than 80 times in 1995. By contrast, 5 years later, it remained above 80 times. The times eaten hamburgers was 10 in 1975, this figure went up significantly to roughly 85 times. In following decade, the amount of hamburgers which was eaten increased steadily to exactly 100 times that its was the highest point of the whole line graph. At the end of period, this figures still remained 100 times. It was, therefore, the most popular fast food was consumed by the Australian teenagers.
