The given chart and graph indicate the information about the Olympics' participants since it started. The bar chart illustrates the number of participants in total in the Olympics for 4 years: 1924, 1952, 1984 and 2012.

As we can see at the bar chart, there was an upward trend in both two genders. The number of male participants doubled from 3000 in 1924 to 6000 in 2012. By the way, the amount of female had a significant growth in 88 years from under 200 in 1924 to nearly 4800 in 2012. And the distance between men and women 's number had been shorten throughout the period.

Moving to the line graph, it can be seen that the amount of people took part in the Olympics increased considerably. Starting at about 3000 participants in 1924, the number of athletes joined the Games went up noticeably to reach a peak of 11000 people in 2012.
