The chart below give information about the highspeed continuous internet connection of households in five countries in 2001 and 2002.
The bar chart and table compare five different nations, namely South Korea, USA, Germany, Switzerland and Britain, in terms of the growth of the number of people using high-speed internet access in two consecutive years, from 2001 to 2002.
Generally, users applying high-speed internet connection in all countries experienced an increase and the biggest change occurred in Britain. In addition, South Korea and the USA had the quantity of families having a line of tall-speed internet was the highest.
In 2001, about 12,2% of South Korea households had access to high-speed internet, compared to 9,3% of US families. One year later, the number of US houses with high-speed internet soared by 170% and reached a peak of 25,11% of the population, which was the tallest figure of all measured territories for those years. By contrast, the developing rate was significantly lower in South Korea, at only 20%.
Regarding the remaining areas, there was only a very small difference between them, with only roughly 0.35% of households having a high-speed connection. Over the one year ensuing, all three lands witnessed notable rises. Details, Germany and Switzerland rose sharply by 80% and 120% respectively. However, it seems that Britain saw an explosion of high-speed internet usage, so the hugest change rate happened in here with a 230% increases.
