The chart below gives information about the age of women in Australia when they give birth to their first child in 1966, 1986 and 2006. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The chart illustrates the age of Australian first-time mothers in three different years.
It is apparent that Australian first-time mothers at 19-24 years of age took the highest proportion in 1996 while the first position in 1986 and 2006 belonged to females between the ages of 25-30 and 30-34 respectively. However, the percentage of first-time mothers over 40 years old was lowest in all three given years.
Turning to the details, over 60% of Australian first-time mothers aged 19 and 24 in 1966 which doubled the figures for women at the age of under 19 and 25-30. In the next 40 years, the percentage of women having their first child between ages of 25 and 40 peaked at 50% which was about double and triple the proportion of first-time mothers at the age of under 19, 30-34 and 34-39, ( 20%,18%,and 16% respectively).
In 2006, the figure for women aged 30-34 was highest (at 45%), followed by 29%,39% and 30% of first-time mothers aged 19-24, 25-30, and 34-39 respectively. In contrast, the percentage of women having their first child at over 40 bottomed at under 10% in all three recorded years.
