The given chart compares some aspects of the world in terms of urban population growth and predicts the future.
Overall, it can be seen that Africa's population growth percentages in 1950 and 2000 was the lowest among the countries of Asia. Moreover, Latin America and the Caribbean, the population growth rate is expected to reach the highest point in 2030.
To begin with, in 1950 the percentage of the growing population in Africa and Asia was just above 10%. In contrast, the proportion in Latin America / Caribbean reached over 40% and is still higher than the proportion of people residing in Africa and Asia in 2000. Compared to the whole world, the proportion in 1950 was above Africa and Asia at nearly 30%. And the percentage of the whole world was lower with Latin America / Caribbean.
30 years later, Africa and Asia are expected to have an upward trend but still lower than the world. It is projected that Latin American/Caribbe will reach 80% in comparison to the global average.
