The bar chart compares information about the most popular sports which male and female played in New Zealand in 2002. From a general perspective, the clear data could be observed that netball was the most well-liked sport among girls, while soccer was the best choice among boys.
According to the graph in 2002, girls preferred to play netball, in which the percentage was the highest at 25%, followed by swimming and tennis. On the other hand, fewer female chose to play cricket to compare with the other sports, it was also the lowest of the proportion roundly 1%, followed by marital arts and athletics. Meanwhile, soccer was very popular among boys, which was the highest of the rate at nearly 25%, the second and third popular were swimming and cricket. In contrast, not many males participated in netball which was lower than the others, around 1%.
Other sports stayed at 10% and 18% respectively among girls and boys. Swimming was popular among both boys and girls, the number of boys participated in this sport was about 13% to compare with approximately 23% of girls.
