The chart below gives information about the purpose of visits to five cities in the UK in 2013.
The given bar chart indicates the reasons why people visit five cities London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, and Liverpool in 2013. Overall, while the most common purpose of visits to Birmingham and Manchester is for business, the others’ are for holiday.
It can be seen from the chart that just under 70 percent of visitors come to Edinburgh for holiday purposes, which was the highest data of holiday. This proportion is nearly five times as high as the figure for Edinburgh’s business visitors and about 50 percent higher than that of visitors visiting friends or relatives. London and Liverpool are in the same situation as Edinburgh with the highest percentage for holiday, at about 20 percent and 32 percent respectively.
Besides, nearly 50 percent of Birmingham’s visits' purpose is business, which was equal to the sum of holiday and visiting friends and relatives data and more than 40 percent higher than that of miscellaneous. In Manchester, visitors who go for business purposes accounted for more than 30 percent, which was the highest, followed by the figure for visiting acquaintances at about 26 percent, going on holiday at just over 20 percent and miscellaneous at about 16 percent.
