The bar chart given below illustrate major export in Southland between 2000, 2020, and future projection for 2025. The data is measured in billion. Overall, it can be seen that export demand for international tourism increases over the period, while meat product dropped constantly.
In 2000, the number of Southland’s export for international tourism stood at 8. However, over the following years, there was a stable rise to 9 and the rate reaching a peak of 10 in 2025. Different case with international tourism, export dairy product experienced a constant fall. Beginning the period at just 6 and falling after two decades only 5.5, the decrease again to 5 for future project in 2025.
Dairy product had a more erratic pattern of export. Start at 7 in 2000, it overtook international tourism in 2020 with export reaching 10. Project for 2025 saw a decline in the dairy export which was hit a low of 5 to represent the lowest proportion of exports.
