The chart below gives some information about the growth of the urban population in certain parts of the world (including the prediction of the future).

The column graph illustrates the proportion of growing cities’ population in three different religions, particularly in Latin America/ Caribbean, Asia, Africa and the whole world, over a 80-year period from 1950 to 2030.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that the percentage of urban population is expected to grow significantly, which is proportional to the growth of world population. Noticeably, the population of Latin America Caribbean have accounted for the highest score over the period.
In particular, when it comes to Latin America/ Caribbean, the given graph witnessed a considerable increase of 29% in the growing population from 41% in 1950 to 70% in 2000. Afterwards, the figure is going to rise sharply to 80% in 2030, constituting the highest number.
Meanwhile, in terms of Asia and Africa, there were upward trends in the growth of population, with proportion increasing from 14%, 12% in 1950 respectively to equal numbers at 37% in 2000. Besides, the number is forecast to go up to 56% for the former and 51% for the later, which is likely to be lower than that of whole world average. Concerning total population, the percentage stood at 30% in 1950 before rising to 47% in 2000, then predicted to constantly grow of 23% in 2030.
