The charts illustrate the number of Japanese's tourists travelling around the world from 1985 to 1995 and percentage of Japanese tourist coming to Australia.

In general, the number of Japanese travelling abroad increased significantly throughout 10 years. In the first 5 years and 3 years at the end of the chart, the number of tourist has risen sharply (5 million to 11 million and 11.9 million to more than 15 million respectively). In the middle of timeline, there was a fluctuation between 1990 and 1992, which decreased to 10.5 million and then grew to 11.9 million. About the chart of Australia's share of Japan's tourist market, there was an upward trend over 10 years and reached a peak in 1993 with more than 6% of Japanese tourist coming to Australia. The percentage was volatile in 10 years which grew to 4.8% in 1988 then fell to about 4.2% and climbed in 1993 with higher 6% and decreased slightly to 6% in 1994.

Major trends in both charts increased substantially. The number of Japanese tourists travelling throughout the world rose dramatically with a little fluctuation while percentage of Japanese coming to Australia for travelling wasn't stable from 1985 to 1995.
