The given bar charts present the number of destinations that the UK graduates and postgraduates pursued after graduation in 2008, excluding full-time work. Overall, the number of graduate students was by far more than that of postgraduate students, while the proportions of destinations between the two groups of students were quite similar; the majority of them decided to study further, followed by doing part-time jobs, and then to be unemployed and lastly to do voluntary work.
Looking first at graduates' destinations, 29,665 of them decided to pursue further education, while approximately half of that decided to work part-time and not to get a job, 17,735 and 16,235, respectively. The number of the students who choosed to do voluntary work was very small; 3,500, which was just over 8 times smaller than that choosed to futher study.
Now turning to postgraduates' destinations. The most popular destination was still further education, whereas the number of students who worked part-time job was slightly less, 2,725 and 2,535, respectively. Moderate number of unemployed postgraduates was found at 1,625, while that of the students who did voluntary work was by far trivial (345) compared to other destinations.
