Essay topics:

The chart below shows the amount spent on six consumer goods in four European countries.

The bar chart provides information about expenditure on six goods (Personal stereos, tennis racquets, perfumes, CDs, toys and films) in four countries (Germany, the UK, France and Italy). The units are measured in thousand pounds sterling.
Overall, the UK was the biggest consumer of goods in all categories, whilst Germany showed little interest in almost all kinds of items.
Photographic film was the most popular item in Britain with roughly 170 thousand pounds sterling (just above the figure for toys), whilst the British spent approximately the same amount of money on the other categories  (from about 155 to 160 units). Citizens of France showed similar interest with the exception for perfumes, racquets and stereos, which were the last with only a little above 140 units.
The Italians spent the most on films and toys (approximately 155 units both) and the least on the other categories (roughly 5 units smaller than the toy spending). Finally, the Germans had almost the same amount of just above 145 for all goods but CDs (the latter accounted for about 143 units spent).
