The chart below shows the changes in different areas of crime in Manchester city centre from 2003-2012.

The line graph illustrates how often three different types of crime were made in Manchester city centre over 9-year period between 2003 and 2012.
Overall, the number of burglary in Manchester city centre decreased dramatically during the given period. In contrast, car theft and robbery remained relatively steady with minimal fluctuations over the same period.
To start with, in 2003, there was around 3400 cases of burglary. After minimal rise in 2004, it dropped sharply to reach its low in 2008 at around 1100 cases. Then, in 2009, it increased slightly and levelled out for the rest of the period.
Moving to the rest of the categories, in 2003, there was approximately 2400 cases of car theft, which was four times as much as that of robbery. However, in 2006, the rate of car theft declined gradually to reach its low at 2000 cases, whilst robbery maintained its level with some fluctuations. In 2012, car theft grew rapidly reaching its peak at 2800 cases, meanwhile robbery plateaued.
