The chart below shows the changes that took place in three different areas of crime in New Port city center from 2003-2012

The graph shows the differences rates of crime in the inner Newport for decade between year 2003 and year 2012, which was caused by burglary, car theft and robbery and measured by the number of incidents. According to the information, the changing rates of robbery and car theft formed a similar pattern with some fluctuation throughout this period. The figure for Burglary’s case reached the highest peak in 2004, however notably underwent a downturn trend till 2008 and remained steady till 2012.

In 2003, burglary was the most occurred crime reached nearly 3500, however after year 2004 sharply decreased by nearly 3000 in 4 years. In the same period of time, there was a small drop for car theft, but after 2006 started to grow gradually and by the middle of 2006 reached over 2000 as same as burglary. Robbery started above 500 in 2003, was the lowest among three crimes. It increased less than 500 by 2005 and then slightly declined to just 500.

Clearly, between 2008 and 2012, car theft experienced an upward trend. On the other hand, burglary and robbery went through minor fluctuation.
