The line chart depicts three different categories of crime (burglary, car theft, and robbery) taken place in Newport city in the year 2003-2012.
Overall, robbery is the least among the three which was committed in the city for the given tenure(2003-2012) as compared to burglary which had the highest contribution to increase crime rate in the year 2004.
On one hand, burglary has seen an overall downward fall in crime rates reporting 3500 number of incidents in the year 2003 which reached its peak to around 4500 in 2004 and gradually falling thereafter until it marked slightly less than 1500 number of crimes in 2012.Additionally, car theft outlines a continuous increase for the violation beginning from 2003 where a stable number was seen for all three consequent years of less than 3000 incidents and marginally declined to 2000 in the year 2006. Going forward, a gradual contribution kept on increasing until it reached back to the same starting number in 2012.
On the other hand, robbery had been one of the stable crime rates with few changes in the given years. In the year 2003, around 550 crime reports were reported further a marginal increase in the trajectory was observed until it declined to 500 in the year 2008 and further a stable line was observed by reaching 550 in the year 2012.
