The bar chart given illustrates the information about the quantity of garbage waste in a country of Europe treated by three various methods, namely landfill, burning and dumping at the sea over the course of 3 years from 2005 to 2008.
Overall the landfill witnessed a downward tendency whereas there was a gradual increase in the figure for the other treatments.
In 2005, burying rubbish was the most popular usage, about 1800 million tones, tripling as popular as dumping at sea, around 600 million tones. One year later, the total trash material buried declined sharply, approximately 1200 million tones. From that time to 2008, less garbage was disposed of using this treatment than before, dropping gradually by 10 million tones annually. Meanwhile, the number of dumping in the ocean fluctuated over four-years period, falling slightly from 600 to over 500 million tones.
By contrast, incineration was the least favourite method to deal with waste in 2005, recording about 45 million tones. Each over the next 3 years, the moderate rise in 100 million tones of using the heat. Subsequently, this number of 2008 continued to go up and hit a peak at 900 million tones rubbish waste by using this treatment.
